Speaker Base & Swivel

Adjustable Swiveling Speaker Stand

Building a speaker stand turned out to be more than just making a frame or base.  Steve Beary, my audiophile consultant, informed me that not any base would do.  For best acoustics and to minimize feedback reverberations there was a specific ratio of speaker height to room dimensions.  In addition, it was best if the speaker rested on only three contact points with the floor.

Would three rubber tabs on the supporting board immediately under the speaker do?  Yes, that would probably work well enough....

So, in view of all this de rigeurness, I worked up a speaker stand that included adjustable bases attached to a threaded bar  that not only swivelled left and right but which could be swiveled up or down like an old piano stool.
